1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Shimmering Meadow ("we", "us", or "our") regarding your use of our website, services, and educational programmes. By accessing our website at shimmering-meadow.com or enrolling in our courses, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you may not access or use our services.

We provide English language education services including IELTS preparation, general English courses, business English, academic English, and one-to-one tuition.
3. Eligibility
To use our services, you must:
- Be at least 16 years of age
- Have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements
- Provide accurate and complete information during registration
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations
If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent to enrol in our courses.
4. Course Enrolment and Fees
4.1 Enrolment Process
To enrol in our courses, you must:
- Complete the enrolment form with accurate information
- Pay the required course fees and any applicable deposits
- Provide necessary documentation (ID, qualifications, etc.)
- Attend a placement test if required
4.2 Course Fees and Payment
- All course fees are stated in British Pounds (GBP)
- Payment is due in full before course commencement unless alternative arrangements are agreed
- We accept payment by bank transfer, credit/debit card, or other approved methods
- Late payment may result in suspension from classes
- A £50 administration fee applies to all refund requests
4.3 Course Changes
We reserve the right to:
- Modify course content, schedules, or instructors
- Cancel courses due to insufficient enrolment
- Combine classes of similar levels
- Change course venues with reasonable notice
5. Refund and Cancellation Policy
5.1 Student-Initiated Cancellations
- More than 14 days before course start: Full refund minus £50 administration fee
- 7-14 days before course start: 50% refund minus administration fee
- Less than 7 days before course start: No refund
- After course commencement: No refund except in exceptional circumstances
5.2 School-Initiated Cancellations
If we cancel a course, you will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to an alternative course at no additional cost.
5.3 Visa Refunds
If your UK student visa application is refused, we will provide a full refund upon presentation of the official refusal letter, minus the administration fee.
6. Student Responsibilities and Code of Conduct
6.1 Attendance and Punctuality
- Regular attendance is expected for all enrolled courses
- Students must arrive punctually for all classes
- Extended absences must be reported to the school office
- Students with attendance below 80% may be withdrawn from the course
6.2 Behaviour and Conduct
Students must:
- Treat staff, fellow students, and visitors with respect
- Follow all health and safety guidelines
- Maintain appropriate standards of dress and behaviour
- Use school facilities responsibly
- Complete assignments and homework as required
- Not engage in any form of harassment, discrimination, or disruptive behaviour
6.3 Academic Integrity
- Students must not plagiarise or cheat in any form
- All work submitted must be original unless otherwise specified
- Collaboration must be explicitly permitted by the instructor
7. School Policies
7.1 Health and Safety
We are committed to providing a safe learning environment. Students must comply with all health and safety regulations and report any hazards or incidents immediately.

All course materials, content, and resources provided by Shimmering Meadow are protected by intellectual property rights. Students may use these materials solely for educational purposes and may not:
- Reproduce or distribute materials without permission
- Use materials for commercial purposes
- Share digital resources with non-enrolled individuals
8.2 Student Work
Students retain ownership of their original work but grant us permission to use anonymised samples for educational and promotional purposes.
9. Website Terms
9.1 Acceptable Use
When using our website, you agree not to:
- Use the site for unlawful purposes
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems
- Upload malicious code or viruses
- Interfere with other users' experience
- Collect personal information about other users
9.2 Content Accuracy

10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the specific course or service

- Students participate in activities at their own risk
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or other matters that cannot be excluded by law.
11. Force Majeure
We are not liable for any failure to perform our obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Natural disasters
- Government actions or regulations
- Pandemic or health emergencies
- Industrial action
- Technical failures
In such circumstances, we will endeavour to provide alternative arrangements where possible.
12. Complaints Procedure
If you have a complaint about our services:
- Speak directly with your course instructor or student services
- If unresolved, submit a written complaint to the Director of Studies
- We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 working days
- We aim to resolve complaints within 20 working days
- If you remain dissatisfied, you may escalate to relevant external bodies
13. Disciplinary Procedures
We reserve the right to suspend or exclude students who:
- Breach these Terms of Service
- Engage in misconduct or disruptive behaviour
- Fail to pay required fees
- Provide false information
Disciplinary actions will be taken in accordance with our internal procedures, and students will have the right to appeal decisions.
14. Modifications to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time by posting updated terms on our website. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Continued use of our services after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
Material changes affecting existing students will be communicated directly with reasonable notice.
15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or our services shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
16. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
